Wedding at the Indianapolis Public Library | Brandi & Okey

Brandi and Okey’s June wedding at the Indianapolis Public Library was a beautifully orchestrated fusion of cultures and styles, reflecting their unique journey together. Having celebrated their Nigerian wedding a few months prior, they embraced the elegance of a classic black-and-white color scheme for their traditional American ceremony. Explore their gorgeous black-and-white wedding details captured by Danielle Harris Photography. The couple thoughtfully considered every detail, making each element feel deeply personal and true to who they are.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen rocked classic black, while the bride dazzled in a chic gown and the groom turned heads in an ivory jacket. With ivory floral bouquets tying it all together, the look was absolutely breathtaking and full of style. Check out this gorgeous wedding party!

Wedding at the Indianapolis Public Library: The Ceremony

Brandi and Okey chose the Simon Reading Room for their wedding at the Indianapolis Public Library, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The room’s historical charm shines through with its grand marble columns, sleek granite details, and elegant chandeliers that bathe the space in a warm, romantic light. The ambiance made their ceremony truly unforgettable, set against the backdrop of this beautiful, downtown Indianapolis storied venue.

With a larger wedding party, we decided to line up the VIPs on the stairs, with the couple standing at the top for their nuptials. Everyone looked picture-perfect, including the couple’s adorable pup, Creed, who might have stole the show during the processional.

After celebrating and wrapping up their formal photos in the courtyard, the couple headed inside to enjoy the refreshing air conditioning (mid-June in Indiana always throws in some 90 degree days!). The couple snuck away for a few more photos inside the stunning Atrium, with its expansive glass windows offering breathtaking views of the city and letting in plenty of natural light. Capturing wedding photos in this striking space is a must!

Indianapolis Library Wedding Reception :
with Stunning Black & White Decor

After cocktail hour, guests were dazzled by the reveal of the grand reception space in the Indianapolis Public Library Atrium. The couple had thoughtfully integrated a range of personalized details, including a custom-designed dance floor, elegant black goblets for the head table, a black and white sprinkle cake, and celebratory marquee letters.

They also added a modern twist by placing QR codes on each table, allowing guests to upload their photos to an online gallery—a popular trend this year for capturing candid moments. I highly recommend featuring these QR codes not just on tables but also on bar tops and other visible spots to ensure they catch everyone’s eye.

Finally, a moment to appreciate the unique engagement areas like a fun photo booth and “Love Is” cards were a hit with the guests.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
