Indianapolis natives and hockey fans, Jess and Andrew wanted to embrace the downtown landmarks for their June wedding – and we’re obsessed with their venues! The Indiana State Museum was host to their June afternoon nuptials overlooking the downtown canal. Their celebratory reception followed at the historic Union Station – Crown Plaza. What a perfect day it was!
The historic Union Station Grand Plaza made for a seriously romantic setting for their evening reception. The party was filled with little touches of fun, personalization and magic at every turn. We’re especially in love with the couple’s custom ABC table numbers inspired by places and hobbies that were meaningful to the couple – and of course, the confetti exit!
Now, let’s get to my favorite part…the “garter toss”. While I’m not a fan of the old-fashioned search and find mission, I do love creative spin-off ideas. For the hockey enthusiast couple, Jess & Andrew opted to wrap a garter around a hockey puck.
As a surprise to guests, Andrew was going to attempt to shoot the puck out to the bachelors in waiting. If you notice, they all seem very calm that he’s about to fling a puck their way. Trust was a key element here! As Andrew goes to hit, he intentionally misses while simultaneously triggering a confetti canon from above, including a garter, falling on to the dance floor. How cool is that?
More color splashes followed with with a colorful final exit by the couple! Congratulations to Jess and Andrew – and thank you for sharing your day with us!
