On the summer solstice, Erika and Jocko hosted their luxe Indianapolis wedding that blended timeless tradition with modern city style. From their classic Catholic ceremony at St. Mary’s on Mass Ave to the rooftop reception at Bottleworks Hotel. Every detail was beautifully planned—and despite soaring 90-degree heat – the couple kept their cool.
Read on to see the highlights captured by the talented Courtney Rudicel—including a special appearance by the couple’s sweet golden retriever, Newman, and all the thoughtful details that made their day unforgettable.
Noteworthy Expressions brought the couple’s vision to life with stunning custom paper products and signage that elevated the entire wedding experience. The illustrated graphic of the hotel was a true masterpiece! On the back of the invitation, guests found a beautifully designed guide highlighting local attractions to explore during the break between the early afternoon ceremony and evening reception. Every detail was intentional, luxe, and perfectly set the tone for a sophisticated celebration in the heart of Indianapolis.
The couple chose a timeless black and white color palette that set the stage for a sleek and sophisticated celebration. The white florals, designed by Bellegio Florals, stood out beautifully against the black wedding party attire – a combination that, in my opinion, can never go wrong! The look was effortlessly elegant, with Erika truly shining in her white gown alongside her stylish entourage.
The couple exchanged vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony at the beautiful St. Mary’s Catholic Church off Mass Ave in Indianapolis. To top it all off, guests gathered outside the church for a festive streamer sendoff. It was a picture-perfect moment watching the newlyweds exit down the historic church steps hand in hand before slipping into the classic 1956 Bentley S1 getaway car. Truly, it couldn’t have been more perfect!
To welcome guests to cocktail hour, Erika and Jocko added thoughtful touches that set the tone for the evening. Their welcome sign tapestry served as a signature focal point at the entrance to the Library, where the reception began – another stunning creation by Noteworthy Expressions.
Newman, the couple’s beloved golden retriever, made a special appearance to greet guests, a hit made even sweeter thanks to our favorite dog handler, Eric of Your Dog Day Chauffeur. Newman wasn’t just featured on custom cocktail napkins—he stole the show in person and, of course, had his own photo shoot moment with mom and dad too.
As guests transitioned to the rooftop Gallery Courtyard for dinner, they were greeted by a stunning midsummer city backdrop that created the perfect atmosphere for celebration. Though the June day had been one of the hottest days, the evening brought welcome shade just in time for dinner. Tall white florals, thoughtful place settings, black Chiavari chairs, and subtle gold accents came together seamlessly to create a refined and romantic aesthetic. And of course, no Indiana celebration would be complete without a grandiose cake from The Cake Bake Shop. Dinner gave way to dancing under the stars, with the entire evening flowing effortlessly thanks to the skilled hosting and professional MC talents of one of our favorites, Jim Cerone.
It was a true celebration of love, surrounded by so many caring friends and family ready to support them. Erika and Jocko were such a wonderful couple to work with, and I felt truly honored to be part of their day. Wishing them all the best as they begin this new chapter together—and sweet memories of the most beautiful June wedding!
