It’s absolutely undeniable: the midwestern charm was packed on quite heavily for Stephanie and Danny’s Carmel, Indiana wedding. One glance at the dreamy photos from Alison Mae Photography and their August wedding immediately hits you with its tenderness and summertime vibes.
While there are an array of colors and shades to select for warm-weathered weddings, Stephanie chose the ultimate summertime color: pink. As she and her group of close girlfriends were getting ready, she loved the color palette so much that she decked them out in satin pink pajamas with white piping and then switched to gauzy, blush pink gowns.
The bridesmaids looked so pristine against Danny’s groomsmen who were as dapper as they could be in their classic gray suits. (Summer wedding tip: opt for a neutral, lighter color like the gray shade in Stephanie and Danny’s wedding, beige, or even white tuxedo jackets for the men. It keeps them cool and the color options are a refined, modern alternative to all-black.)
Once Stephanie and Danny’s wedding ceremony at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel church (complete with masks for guests in dainty envelopes) was complete, the party continued at the beautiful Carmel Indiana family homestead.
From the florals to the tablecloth, pink reigned supreme. The outdoor tent was complete with round tables swaddled in powder pink linens, mixed metal flatware and dinnerware (accented by gold chargers), white votive candles, and centerpieces with calla lilies, white and pink roses, orchids, and baby blue eucalyptus stems. The sweetheart table holds the award for being the finest-designed table at the reception. The rustic, farm-feel dropside walnut table bore no linens to match the other tables, but rather was draped with an eye-catching table runner made of seeded eucalyptus with a pink bouquet sitting inside a gold geometric vase. Two tall, white taper candles flanked on either side of Stephanie and Danny completed the farmstead look.
The guests partook in various fun activities during their cocktail hour and post-dinner. The day was blessed with no rainclouds in sight so everyone enjoyed the wide, open space. The bar was dreamily decked out under a canopy of trees with a string of Edison lights and crystal chandelier for added warmth and aesthetic when the sun set on the wedding day.
The corn hole tables and the Jenga blocks were all personalized with monograms and guests were able to also mingle in the barn belonging to Stephanie’s grandfather.
It goes without saying that the barn was a focal point for the photographer. We absolutely adored all of the stunning, formal shots of Stephanie and Danny at the height of the light stream throughout the day, but the photos of the pair at night were very romantic, especially in the barn. The twinkling lights, the “Mr. & Mrs.” sign, and the hanging white chandelier gave off such tender emotions. We imagine that it was a nice moment for them to escape the hustle and bustle of the electrifying wedding reception, to get a second of quiet, and relish in the exciting feeling that they’re finally married.
Thanks to all the wedding professionals who made this day happen seamlessly!
