Hannah and Gerald’s wedding was such a beautiful May day at The Conservatory at Evergreen

Spring Wedding in the Woods | The Conservatory at Evergreen

There’s something especially beautiful about a May wedding at The Conservatory at Evergreen. By late spring, the woods have come back to life, the trees are filled with fresh green leaves, and everything surrounding the glass conservatory feels lush, peaceful, and naturally romantic. For Hannah and Gerald’s wedding day, that woodland setting became the perfect backdrop for a celebration filled with soft colors, meaningful moments, and thoughtful details.

Before the ceremony, Hannah and Gerald shared a private first look surrounded by the beautiful wooded landscape of The Conservatory at Evergreen. Hannah’s dress is still one of my favorites. The soft, flowy silhouette felt effortlessly romantic, and a removable capelet gave her two distinct looks throughout the day. It was such a beautiful choice for the setting and moved perfectly against the natural backdrop of the property.

After their first look, the couple took advantage of the Conservatory’s gorgeous grounds for portraits with Kaitlin Louise Photography. From the wooded paths to the lush spring greenery, the property offered so many beautiful places to capture the two of them together.

A Meaningful Ceremony Surrounded by Nature

Hannah and Gerald’s ceremony, officiated by Bretta Thompson, included one of the sweetest and most personal vow traditions.

When it was time to exchange their vows, the microphones were turned off, allowing the couple to share their words privately with one another. While they had that quiet moment together, their guests were invited to write advice, well wishes, and words of encouragement on cards for the newlyweds.

It created such a lovely pause in the ceremony. Hannah and Gerald were able to be completely present with one another while their family and friends were simultaneously creating keepsakes for them to read and treasure after the wedding.

Once everyone had finished writing, guests rang tiny bells, filling the wooded ceremony space with their soft sound and signaling that it was time to continue. It was simple, interactive, and incredibly sweet. And for one final touch of whimsy, Hannah and Gerald recessed back down the aisle surrounded by bubbles.

An Intimate Reception at The Conservatory at Evergreen

Inside the Conservatory, the natural beauty continued. Surrounded by glass and views of the woods, the reception felt connected to the landscape outside even after guests moved indoors.

Instead of relying solely on traditional round tables, the reception design incorporated serpentine tables alongside rounds, creating a layout that felt soft, flowing, and cohesive. The curved tables brought movement into the room and allowed the guest seating to feel more connected rather than divided into individual groupings.

Hannah and Gerald’s wedding was such a beautiful May day at The Conservatory at Evergreen. From their private first look in the woods to their sweet ceremony and all the thoughtful details throughout the reception, everything simply felt like them. The soft colors, spring greenery and natural setting came together so beautifully, and I especially loved how they found ways to make their ceremony personal and meaningful. The Conservatory is always one of my favorite places to work, but there’s something extra special about it when the woods are green and everything is in bloom. It was such a lovely day to be a part of!
