Brace yourself for one gorgeous wedding! Carla and Norman’s Fort Wayne celebration was filled with beautiful details, meaningful moments, and plenty of personal touches all leading up to the grand finale: an unforgettable Clyde Theatre wedding reception at one of Fort Wayne’s most iconic venues.

But first, champagne! Some wedding days just call for it, and Carla and Norman’s was certainly one of them. From the first toast while getting ready to the celebration that followed, there were plenty of reasons to raise a glass throughout this incredible day.

Carla’s wedding day started at her childhood home, surrounded by her sisters, family, and so much excitement. I had already had the privilege of planning her sister Andrea’s wedding, so getting to come back and celebrate with this family again made the day feel extra special. And the family had grown since the last wedding! Andrea’s twins were the newest and certainly cutest members of the getting-ready crew.

Carla and Norman exchanged vows at St. John the Baptist in Fort Wayne, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The ladies wore soft shades of pink, bringing a romantic touch to the ceremony, while the groomsmen kept things classic in black tuxedos.
Norm stood apart from the group in his U.S. Army dress uniform, making for such a handsome and meaningful contrast. After navigating a long-distance relationship and time apart during his deployments, seeing Carla and Norman finally standing together at the altar made this moment feel even more meaningful. It was an elegant, traditional ceremony filled with so much love as Carla and Norman officially became husband and wife!

Once the ceremony was over and everyone could relax a little, the crew hopped on the trolley and headed out around Fort Wayne for photos. Katy, an associate photographer with Kerri Carlquist Photography, captured all the fun along the way. Kerri’s team is based out of Chicago, and I absolutely love their work! They have such a beautiful way of capturing the classic portraits while still getting all those fun, natural moments in between.

Following the ceremony, guests arrived at Carla and Norman’s Clyde Theatre wedding reception and were welcomed into the lobby for a cocktail hour filled with thoughtful, personal details. A custom fabric installation by Noteworthy Expressions served as both a beautiful welcome statement and seating chart, while cleverly concealing an otherwise ordinary wall and transforming the space. A “Love Before Us” table displayed wedding photos from generations of loved ones, while family matriarchs’ wedding dresses were showcased on mannequins alongside notes sharing their stories. These meaningful touches gave guests so much to explore and made the cocktail hour feel especially interactive and personal.

Florist Kari with Ruby Moon played a tremendous role in helping bring Carla and Norman’s vision to life. The soft pastel color palette was complemented by warm candlelight and a thoughtful mix of textures and details throughout the space. From the variety of centerpiece styles to the smaller finishing touches, every element worked together beautifully.
The statement focal point was the incredible hanging floral installation suspended above the cake, which later became a stunning feature over the dance floor. Beneath it, the tiered wedding cake by Sassie Cakes was a standout piece all on its own. Displayed alongside the cake were photos of Carla and Norman’s parents cutting their own wedding cakes years before was a sweet, sentimental detail.

Once cocktail hour concluded, guests were invited into the main theatre for the grand reveal, but not before Carla and Norm had a private room reveal of their own. After more than a year of planning and envisioning every detail, they had a quiet moment together to take it all in before the doors opened and the celebration officially began.

Another special surprise came during the formal dances with a mother-daughter dance for Carla and her mom. Halfway through the song, Carla’s sisters were invited to join them on the dance floor, followed by all of the mothers and daughters in attendance. It quickly became one of those unexpectedly emotional moments of the evening, filling the dance floor with generations of mothers and daughters—and there were definitely a few tears shed!

The fun really picked up once Night to Remember Band took the stage! As usual, they kept the dance floor packed all night long and were the perfect way to top off such an incredible day. There’s just something about live music that brings an extra level of energy to a reception, and this night was no exception!
