Black & White Summer Wedding at Conservatory

Black and white doesn’t have to mean simple or boring. Amber and Sean’s summer wedding at Conservatory at Evergreen was proof that a classic color palette can still feel fresh, modern, and full of personality.

The day began downtown Indianapolis in the upscale suites at the Omni Severin. With its spiral staircase, balcony, and elegant architectural details, the suite gave both Amber and Sean such a beautiful backdrop for getting ready. The Omni Severin is always one of my favorite recommendations for a wedding party home base! It’s convenient for a downtown Indianapolis wedding day, but even better, it offers so many beautiful photo opportunities before you ever leave the hotel.

Before heading to the Conservatory, Amber and Sean shared their first look on the Omni Severin’s iconic grand staircase. It’s one of my favorite spots in Indianapolis for wedding portraits, and Danielle Harris Photography captured it beautifully. It was the perfect setting for such a classic wedding day moment.

Before the “I Do”

Once everyone arrived at Conservatory at Evergreen, there was time to take advantage of the property for portraits before guests began arriving. One of the things I love most about this venue is the variety of backdrops. The wooded property feels lush and natural while the glass Conservatory gives you something completely different just steps away. It makes it so easy to capture so many different looks without ever leaving the property.

The outdoor ceremony setup was set facing the woods, creating a naturally beautiful backdrop surrounded by all the greenery of July. Custom Blooms designed white floral arrangements along the ground to frame the ceremony space while keeping the overall look clean and elegant.

One of my favorite ceremony details was the petal bar. Guests could collect flower petals before taking their seats and then toss them as Amber and Sean made their way back down the aisle as newlyweds. Such a simple detail, but it made their recessional feel extra celebratory!

Black, White & All the Details

Inside the Conservatory, the black and white design continued with a thoughtful statement details that completely transformed the reception space.

The seating chart was one of my favorites. A wallpapered structure was designed with shelving that held framed table assignments mixed among fresh flowers. Instead of a traditional seating chart, it became a beautiful décor moment all on its own.

The black-and-white dance floor anchored the reception space, while black linens created a dramatic backdrop for the head table. White florals softened the look and tied everything back to the ceremony.

We also repurposed the ceremony ground florals at the reception, giving those arrangements a second life and creating even more impact to the head table. Repurposing ceremony florals is one of my favorite ways to make the most of a floral investment!

Draping, installed Indy Dream Events, was added for Amber and Sean’s grand entrance, creating a beautiful reveal as they entered the reception for the first time as husband and wife.

From the elegant morning at the Omni Severin to their wooded ceremony and sophisticated black and white reception, Amber and Sean’s summer wedding at Conservatory at Evergreen was an unforgettable celebration! Congratulations to the newlyweds – wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
